More new pieces to the puzzle



Belly pans rocked up at the beginning of the week from vw heritage, despite the fragile tape you could see that the box had taken some beatings over the last week in transit,  however after un-wrapping I could see that they had made it too me in pretty good shape considering the size, shape and strength of the pressed steel under floor strengthening plates. Some twisting has occured, but these will see some modifying and work anyway. I cant wait to see how good or bad they offer up to the bus, Im very eager to get the bus back on its side - this will be my next job.

We went to check out Heby skate park the other night, It had some Huge ramps, the boys had some BMX practice with the Uppsala BMX club. I even broke out the bike and took a few sketchy jumps over the jump box (no not the spine) - I landed them all but slammed a few times on the adjacent 1/4 while trying to em, stop... - Big bruises the following days....

The next day another call from UPS, the new loom has showed up : )

I was stoked to see some attention to detail, Its so nice to see effort in workmanship and small business, the packaging was stout, the news paper protection, the loom clearly marked, wires labelled and even it came with a bunch of laminated diagrams to help installation - Great stuff from VWLOOMS.COM - Thank you Jon.

This is a great time of year in Sweden, longer and longer days now all the way to Midsummer and the daylight finally out shines the darkness again - equinox and eclipse in one day today.

Spring 2015 Some new parts coming in...

It feels like winter is over once again, even earlier then last year,  over the past week or 2 we have seen all those early signs of spring unfolding, first was the sadness and surprise of no more snow, followed by the hanging up of the snowboards and bikes, the kids sledges and snow racers, such a short season again! Then the days began to feel noticeably longer,  day by day in Feb, driving home from work in daylight was so nice after weeks of dark and dangerous commutes, This week I won the "first spotting of geese" the same day I saw 3 swans over head and other birds in the garden and so nice hearing there songs, the silence of winter was over, and more every day fly back into Hjälstaviken, over our house.  This is a great time of year, and for me the temperature rising daily, means one thing - its time to get going once again in the garage and today it began with a nice parcel of VW goodies from England, the first of a bunch of parts that were ordered late in 2014 - let the build up continue!

 

 VW HERITAGE PARTS - unwrapped the locking drivers door handle, passenger, 12 v semaphores, US spec sealed beam headlights, rear pre 57 us spec tail lights, and some bulbs, all well wrapped and arrived safe and sound - just waiting on the belly pans and flasher relay...

I still have the old original Items which I plan to restore slowly through the years, in the mean time this little lot will get the samba up and driving and looking sharp.

Coming in from the UK next week is a brand new 12 volt wiring loom from Jon at www.vwlooms.com The loom was dispatched weeks ago but a cock up by the Stockholm post saw the loom returning to sender before any contact was made to me ?

Hope to be unwrapping the new loom in the garage in plus degrees next week some time.
